Turkey Says Merhaba to More Chinese Students
At least 1,000 Chinese students are currently studying at Turkish universities, but during a Eurasian educational summit in Istanbul, the two countries agreed to work towards more cooperative actions between Turkey and China. The two nations intend to establish more bilateral agreements, including free language courses, coordinated departments, and exchange programs.
The Turkish government has stated that it will make it easier for Chinese, and other international students, to study in Turkey.
The new agreements will benefit both countries. Turkey hopes to expand its international education profile, and Chinese is one of the biggest players in student mobility. Both countries hope that an increase in exchange students will help to foster more diplomatic and cultural understanding. The cooperation between China and Turkey will also create more opportunities for Turkish students to study abroad.
