Graduate Degree Research Scholarships, Australia 2015
The Melbourne International Research Scholarships (MIRS) are are granted to the international aspirants who have a desire to chase graduate research degree studies (for example master’s by research, PhD or other research doctorate) at the University of Melbourne. The University will grant more than 150 scholarships every year. The time period for the MIRS is almost two years for student undertaking a master by research degree and approximately three years, along with a possible six month postponement, for the aspirants chasing a doctorate by research degree.
These scholarships are available for chasing for all subject granted by the university.
These scholarships are granted to international aspirants for chasing master level degree.
To hold this scholarship, the candidate must meet the following eligibility criteria:
o The candidate must be an international candidate (i-e. a resident of a country excluding Australia or New Zealand, and also not a permanent citizen of Australia.
o The candidate must have completed tertiary studies that are at least equivalent to a four years honours degree at an Australian university along with a minimum result of first class honours;
o The candidate must have applied for admission to chase a master or doctorate by research degree or be presently registered in a research degree at the University of Melbourne
o Present University of Melbourne aspirants must have at least 12 months full-time or equivalent standing remaining.
· Monthly living expenditures;
· Replacement award for the aspirants moving to Melbourne from federal or from outside the Australia;
· Thesis Grant; and
· Rest paid sick, childbearing and parenting leave.
· Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) (only one membership)
